To be a key individual/lead in the software development department, working on new projects whilst retiring legacy systems. This is a critical function within a technology business that develops and delivers the technology driving the business processes and value. Working closely with multiple business users and the CTO, the candidate will be expected to lead on key projects and utilise the team as appropriate. Working with many commercial SAM inventory systems, the technology enhances and transforms our clients’ data to allow them to make reliable and informed financial decisions about their enterprise software estate.Main Duties
Development process overhaul to achieve step gains in development speed, efficiency an product qualityImproving communication between the business and development teamsKey member of the team delivering quality software development and integration projectsWorking closely with partners to deliver software projectsWork closely with infrastructure IT and the product owner to ensure that specifications are understood and developed in a cost-effective and fast mannerSeek new technologies, frameworks and methods from a software development perspective that will drive the development function forward and add valueBe a key member of the Agile scrum team and take responsibility for product backlog, items and tasks form the sprintRecommended changes in process to improve the SDLCRequirements to Carry Out Job Essential (E) or Desirable (D) Requirement.Qualifications / Education Required:
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative discipline with extensive experience in software development. EExperience Required
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft stack: C#, T-SQL, SQL Server, ASP.Net Core, MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, IIS Strong knowledge of modern SPA technologies: Angular or Angular2 E
Any knowledge of no-SQL database technologies beneficial D
Good Knowledge of JIRA DGood Knowledge of the development of SaaS and cloud based applications E
Good knowledge of integrating COTS technologies with in-house applications E
Familiar with source code management and application lifecycle management tools. Preferably Git, Octopus Deploy D
Familiar with IT process standards and methodologies: Agile Scrum, ITIL D
Familiar with information capture techniques. The selection and application of information gathering methods, tools and techniques for requirements analysis purposes D
A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual or a key functional area of an application as part of a team E
Evidence in a prior role of deriving requirements directly from a business team with no technical background, agreeing direction with them, and delivering to production solutions to plan and on time. E
Commercial Awareness
Ideally, the candidate will have experience of asset management or data driven application development from a commercial perspective. D
