This role will report to the Software Licensing Business Manager , but will also have dotted-line reporting to into the Security Practice and Enterprise Storage Solutions division. Based in Watford, with a defined requirement to work 1-2 days per week at sales offices in Birmingham. Base salary of £30K basic plus £15K commission The role will involve working closely with aligned sales teams; gaining marketplace intelligence and building successful sales campaigns. This will involve quotations, vendor liaison, technical management, tender/bid response to ensure successful wins across client base. The ability to build sound working relationships across the business, particularly with Business Development Executives and external and internal licensing sales specialists is essential, as is the willingness to assist in the overall liaison with Symantec to ensure the company's success as a strategic partner. The attendance at relevant training courses will be needed, together with the securing of necessary accreditations and updating and maintenance of product knowledge. The successful applicant will work with aligned sales teams; assist in overall report writing for sales activity, forecasting and pipeline development and be expected to achieve against sales targets. We are looking for an IT Sales Professional, having experience within the appropriate environment and have obtained some specialist skills relevant to this role, typically having operated inside a software orientated reseller, distributor or vendor. The individual should be confident, enthusiastic, customer focussed and proactive with a proven track record in desk based sales, able to produce significant growth in stated time scales, with ideally, but not essentially, some understanding of software sales and or Symantec product set.

We are looking for a candidate with the following attributes: - Has worked for an IT reseller or distributor selling Microsoft products & licensing - Preferably has end user experience - Has passed the MLSE exams (will be tested upon interview) - Preferably has gained MCP status based on exams 70-121, 70-122 or 70-123 Role description: You will be involved in supporting the SME sales teams with their customers licensing requirements and answering any queries they have. You will also be expected to contact end users to discuss and qualify their requirements. Although no cold calling will be involved, candidates will be expected to uncover further Microsoft licensing opportunities with our customers through effective questioning techniques. They will also be expected to develop relationships with customers so they become the tried and trusted source of Microsoft licensing and product knowledge. In turn they will be supported by account managers at distribution and Microsoft that they will also be expected to continue and develop business relationships with. Any candidate will also be expected to accompany sales account managers to customer meetings occasionally as the Microsoft product specialist, so a customer facing appearance and attitude is essential. The package starts at £20k to £25k basic plus commission and depends on experience. You will be working alongside a team of 6 people that cover various hardware and software areas from Network and Network Security products through to Servers and Storage. Any training or exams that are required will be paid for by my client. As a company, they have a strong ethos when it comes to training and will positively encourage it. Although the role is Microsoft based there is no reason why you cannot progress within the team into other areas in the future once established in the Microsoft role for at least a year.
