Background + personal:

Must have come from an existing IT operational support type role.

5-10 years experience supporting business teams with IT

Someone who is a genuine self-starter and problem solver

Someone who is prepared to dig into issues, root out logs, diagnose the cause and propose solutions

Someone who is comfortable setting up demo environments (e.g VMs) which are repeatable

Someone who is comfortable speaking with client contacts of a similar or lesser technical experience, and guiding them if necessary. Must be able to speak confidently and clearly and be able to explain issues/resolutions to less technical people

Technical skills:

Strong Active Directory administration skills

Strong Windows server 2012 R2 and 2016 administration

SQL Server basic administration (2012-2016 versions)

Powershell scripting (not essential) 

Some basic experience of SCCM, MAP or other inventory collection tools in an enterprise environment  
 

Any experience in these areas would be a bonus:

Linux, AWS, Azure, VMWare
