Job Title
Software Contract Manager Department Software Asset Management (SAM) Reporting To SAM Service Delivery Manager Purpose of Job On-site role, as primary contact for the delivery of software contract advisory services for a large multi – national organisation (100k+ employees). Responsibilities - Monitoring of Software Vendors (inc, Oracle, MS, Adobe and Sophos)
- Act as first line in audit defence and establish process for supporting such requests
- Spend reporting and contract life cycle management annual, quarterly, monthly charging
- Support the customer in the preparing for key contract renewals and anniversary through the analysis of available data and liaising with key stakeholders across the business and 3rd parties outsourcers.
- Supporting internal recharging services
- Monitoring and responding to license desk queries
- Supporting quality assurance of services to customer
- Management of on-site resources, and co-ordination of in-house resources and customer outsourcers
- Ensuring team maintains a high level of expertise, particularly in areas of software licensing for key software publishers.
- Ensuring team maintains strategic relationships with key software publishers
- Identifying and working closely with key stakeholders within customer
- Work with process manager and client director to develop product roadmap and strategy for SAM services
- Work with the process manager and the client director to ensure deliverables are in line with client contract
Skills Required - Experience of managing software contracts and negotiating license/type and rates with experience of preparing an annual declaration for the publisher.
- Good organisational and people management skills and work as an escalation point
- A good understanding of software contract management and negotiation
- Experience of SAM and software licensing, systems management technologies and service delivery
- Excellent communication skills face to face/email/telephone with ability to talk both to technical and C level contacts.
- Proven proficiency in identifying new business opportunities
- Ability to work collaboratively with the client director
- Flexible approach to working unsociable hours on occasion
